Message to cooltiger
You can establish your own style in any field. Look forward to your cool idea sent out from your cool office. Keep in touch over something yummy too.

As the 7th guest, someone whom sat next to me at an Italian class 4 years ago...

May I have your name?
Yuki Kurishima or Yuki Matsuda. For graphic work, use the former and for the rest of works, the latter.

Where you are from?
Shinjuku, Tokyo.

What you do for living?
Graphic designer. And I've made bags made of ribbon for several years.

What interests you besides work?
First of all, hot spring (onsen). Especially the ones at the back of mountains or the ones at clif... somewhere hard to go or somewhere refined/tasteful (for me, of course). Am interested in hot springs overseas, too. And fireworks, cooking, glass, furniture, Italy, book, green, transpersonal psycology... Anyway, I'm interested in many things.

I know you go to onsen or travel overseas often. Is any scenary, people, or culture you've encountered from your trips refered to your design of a bag somehow?
Onsen is a place to disclose myself in the nature. The place I'd be the part of it without any filter, through all of my bornes. It's interesting that the idea or colour for my next bag comes up naturally. Is it reflected? Since I open myself at onsen, maybe it's coming up from inside of me? It's strange feeling. I got infludenced through traveling overseas big time, especially Prague, the Czech Republic. That town is just something. The town itself is a museum and an art.
Particulary the cafe on the esecond floor of museum of Czech Cubism, Grand Cafe Orient, is awesome, its color is so beautiful. I made a bag with a motif of it.

Please let me see that bag later. By the way, what's your difinition of "tasteful"?
Tasteful... the well balanced moment between the sense of air, moisture, and smell. It's not necessary to be a place, could be an old car, could be a furniture... I feel it from a movie sometimes. It's rare but I could feel it with somebody...

I see. (Including graphic design, bag, or whatever) When you create something, what would you care most?
Always, make what I'd want. With work, I'd better to think of clients or end-users, but I should trust myself and would like to create something which makes me happy. So, in other words, I have a client inside of myself.

The line she said a long time ago "It's sucks, if it's not fun." stuck with me since. It's one of ordinary phrases, but thanks to that, I've changed my way to see/think of things more flexible. Thanks very much, Yuki-san.
