第3回目のゲストはベアード・ビール（第5回目のゲストに登場予定）がご縁で知り合ったこの方です。
お名前をどうぞ。
u.g.（ユー・ジー）。
ご出身は？
山口県周南市(旧徳山市)。
お仕事は？
ネットワーク機器の提案、企画＆開発、品質管理。
お仕事以外で何に関心がありますか。
BEER+WHISKY+DJ! それからお酒の仕込みに使われるBarrel（バレル）、Cask（カスク）等の木製樽類。特にそれらの再利用について。
その3項目は並列ですか。
そうですね。 最初はウイスキーだけだったけど、それにビールが加わった感じ。音楽は以前仕事でも関わっていたし。
使用済み樽再利用で、スピーカー等音響機器に生まれ変わった例がありますが、最近u.g.さんが気になっている新しい利用方法はありますか？
家具、文房具としての再加工ですね。某大手さんがすでに商品化しています。永年使用できますし。それからウイスキー会社とクラフトビール（地ビール）会社が提携して、樽香豊かなビールの開発…なんていいですね。（u.g.補足：一部のクラフトビール生産者で現在仕込み中です）
今のキャリアと趣味のどちらかを合体させるつもりはありますか？
特に無いかな。現在の仕事は、今までのキャリアでもかなり特殊なんで。
オフに北海道の醸造所を訪ねたり、ボランティアで多くのビア・フェスタに運営スタッフとして、またはDJとして参加していらっしゃいますよね。ここまでのめり込んだのはなぜでしょう？
仕事で99年にドイツへ行った際、言葉が分からないまま一人で屋台に行った時に、現地の見知らぬドイツ人に奢ってもらったビールの旨さと
雰囲気に飲み込まれて以来、いまだにビールに飲み込まれてます。 あの屋台に行かなければ、今頃どうなっていただろう？
運命の出会いですね。
最後に、あなたにとってビールは何ですか？
人と人を繋げる物。もちろん音楽も。

Where you are from?
Shunan-shi (ex-Tokuyama-shi), Yamaguchi.
What you do for living?
Planning for network equipments, R&D, and its quiality management.
What interests you besides work?
BEER+WHISKY+DJ! And barrels, casks, and especially how to reuse
them.
Are you interested in those three equally?
Yap. I've started with whisky, then beer joined. I've been in the
music business before, so it comes along with them naturally.
There are some existed examples with reusing of barrels such
as a stereo system. Is there any re-usage which you find interesting?
Reusing them as furnitures or stationeries. Some of major whisky
companies have already produced them. It's nice because it can be
used for good. Also it would be cool if whisky companies and craft
beer companies collaborate on the new beer with full of amora of
a barrel.
Do you have any plan to combine your work and any of three?
Maybe not...the current work is unique than ever.
You've been quite serious about them though, as visiting brewery
in Hokkaido at your day off, taking part in beer festival as staff
or DJ voluntary. What made you do so?
In 1999, I've been in Germany and dropped by a beer pub by myself,
who doesn't speak any German at all. One local man offered me one
beer and I got hooked by it and a bar's atomosphere. Since then,
I'm still drawn in the pool of beer. What my life would be now,
if I haven't dropped by that pub?
That's the destiny, I'd call.
Before we wrap this up, what's beer for you?
A liaison between people. So is music, of course.
